Fund Overview

Objectives: This sector-specific fund, which invests in a selection of securities listed in the JSE Real Estate sector, has an absolute return orientation and aims to provide investors with both a high-income yield and long-term growth. The fund's return objective is to outperform the FTSE/JSE SA Listed Property Index.

Benchmark: FTSE/JSE SA Listed Property Index

Fund strategy: The portfolio generally consists of between 15 and 25 listed securities, including property companies, property loan stock companies and property unit trusts. The cash portion of the port folio will vary between 10% and 50%. Based on market capitalisation of the JSE Real Estate sector, the management company reserves the right to cap the fund.

Universe: This fund has no capacity for offshore exposure. The portfolio manager has the discretion to reduce property exposure to 50% of the fund's value.

Investor profile: The fund is suitable for investors requiring a regular stream of income from their capital base, investors seeking exposure to the listed property sector with a strong focus on capital preservation, investors seeking an asset class with a lower volatility and lower return correlation to a pure equity fund.
